POLICE FORCE
Karaikal Police Sub-Division,
under the overall supervision of one Senior Superintendent of Police
with the assistance of one Superintendent of Police, is divided into
three Police Circles viz. Karaikal Town Circle (K), T.R.Patinam Circle
(L) and Thirunallar Circle (M) each under an Inspector of Police. Each
Police Circle comprises of two Police Stations under the control of an
Sub-Inspector (S.I.) of Police. The Karaikal Town Town Circle (K)
having Karaikal Town (K1-PS), Kottucherry (K2 PS) and Traffic
Police Stations. T.R.Pattinam Circle comprises T.R.Pattinam(L1) and
Neravy(L2) Police Stations. Thirunallar Circle which includes
Thirunallar(M1) Police Station, and Ambagarathur (M1 OP) Op and
Nedungadu(M2) Police Stations. The Traffic PS covers the areas of Town
PS limits and Kottucherry PS limits only and that in other PS limits
Traffic regulations are looked after by the concerned Police Stations
itself. A coastal Police Station is also functioning in Karaikal
district under the control of an Inspector of Police under the
Supervision of SSP(Karaikal). Further information please visit us at

A Food Cell Squad and an Excise Squad are functioning separately
with the Assistance of the Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department
and the Deputy Collector (Revenue), respectively.
FIRE SERVICE
One Fire station is under the control of one Station Fire
Officer, in a separate own building, with two two fire engines.
JAILS AND LOCK-UPS : A SPECIAL SUB-JAIL is under the
control of a Deputy
Superintendent of Jails with the enforcement of the Puducherry Sub-Jails Rules,
1969. He is performing the duties of a jailor for the purposes the Act.
He is also assisted with Head Warders and Warders.
