RESERVATION CENTRE AT KARAIKAL
Karaikal : Southern Railway is inaugurating a fully computerized passenger Reservation Centre in Karaikal on Sunday the 6th August 2006.
The new Reservation Centre raised at an approximate cost of Rs.8 lakhs will come to much relief of people of Karaikal and neighbouring Tamilnadu areas, who otherwise would have to go to Nagore, 13 Km away from the town, to make reservations.
The Reservation Centre put up in the Ground floor of the Municipal Tourist Home at Bharathiyar Road, Karaikal will be inaugurated by Shri. R.Velu, Union Minister of State for Railways, in presence of Prof. M.Ramadoss, (MP, Lok Sabha) and Shri. V.Narayanasamy (MP, Rajya Sabha). Shri V.K.Ganapathy, MLA, Karaikal South, and Smt.R.Prebavathy, Municipal Chairperson, Karaikal will be the guests of honour.
The Reservation Centre will function from 8.00 hours to 13.00 hours on all days, except Sundays. The timings could be extended later, depending upon the patronage it receives.
To finalise the inauguration of the Reservation Centre, at Karaikal,
Shri.R.C.Ramchandra Jat, Divisional Railway Manager (Trichy) had discussion with the Collector, Karaikal at his Chamber today.
Shri. V.Prabhakar, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager,
Shri. P.V.Reddy, Sr. Divisional Engineer (Co-ordination),
Shri. Amalraj, Divisional Engineer,
Shri. Ashish Kumar, Divisional Security Commissioner,
Shri. C.K.Sivaraj, Public Relations Officer, Southern Railways, Trichy also attended the meeting along with Karaikal District Administration Officials.
