VISION

Collectorate, Karaikal is working hard in order to co-ordinate / streamline the function of various public dealing departments under the control of Collector, Karaikal and bring about greater transparency and openness in the discharge of various functions which have a public interface.

Maintain peaceful atmosphere for the well being of people of Karaikal through all round developmental activities. To co-ordinate, control and to liaise with all Government Departments / Officers to render efficient, effective & transparent service to the public people of Karaikal district.

MAINTAIN LAW & ORDER :

  • Executing the powers of District Magistrate vested under various acts & rules.
  • Co-ordinate / control the activities of the Revenue & Disaster management functions. Head of the Revenue as far as Karaikal district is concerned.

GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIVITIES (Issue of Financial Sanctions) :

  • Issue of expenditure sanctions up to Rs.50.00 lakhs in terms of the G.O.Ms. No. 58/2013/F3 of Finance department, Puducherry.
  • Issue of sanctions for withdrawal / advance of GPF to Group “C” & “D” category staff of Karaikal district.

PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION :

  • Conducting counselling for local transfer among group “C” & “D” for ministerial and common category staff.
    Reporting vacancy position of officials / employees.
  • As chief co-ordinator, conducting various trainings and departmental tests / exams.
  • Functioning as head of office in the absence of the other head ffice of Karaikal district.

DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES :

  • Improve / review / implementation of various schemes by various departments / offices functioning in this district.
  • Conducting co-ordination meeting for monitoring tasks and achievements especially in PLAN head.
  • Preparation of new proposals / review of the existing projects / monitoring the various development schemes.

e-GOVERNANCE ACTIVITIES :

  • Karaikal District e-Governance Society is formed with an aim to implement various online citizen service to the public through common service centres.
  • Most of the Government offices housed at Karaikal district are equipped with the computer network backbone (SWAN) with the help of Department of Information Technology, Government of Puducherry.
  • Common Service Centres are established at all the Town and Villages of Karaikal district through which Government Services are being delivered to the public. As such, Birth and Death Certificates, Patta copy, Survey Sketch, Settlement Extract, Aadhaar Enrollment/Updations etc.,
  • Every Friday, public grievances are redressed by the District Collector with the presence of Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor through Video Conferencing Facility. Public Grievance day also conducted to redress the online/offline grievances received by the Collectorate.
  • In order to familiarize the Cashless Transactions to the people of Karaikal, the series of  awareness campaign were conducted in all the villages.
  • Various online services are implemented in Government offices of Karaikal for facilitate the Government services to the public at their door steps. They are, Knowing of Land Details, GLR Values, Electricity Billing, various Notices, List of Beneficiaries, Announcements, Lodge Grievances, Employment Exchange Registration and Renewal, etc.,
  • Implemented various software applications viz. Document Registration, Transport (Vahan & Sarathy) , Civil Supplies (PDS), MGNREGA, Swaachh Bharat Mission, Land Records Information System (Nilamagal), PaySoft, Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System, Elections, etc.,

REDRESSING OF PUBLIC GRIEVANCES :

  • Being the head of the Karaikal district responsible for the redressal of public grievances, addressing the grievances by all means with the help of various head of offices or through the head of offices concerned.

ELECTIONS :

  • District Elections Officer for the Karaikal district.
  • Chairman & member in various committees constituted by the Government.

LIASION ACTIVITIES WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS :

  • Hosting & providing hospitality to the VVIP and other dignitaries visiting Karaikal district.
  • Co-ordinating / conducting the various functions of National importance like Independence day / Republic day / Martyrs day etc.
  • Conduct of counselling for +1 admission in all overnment Higher Secondary schgools of Karaikal district.
  • Peaceful co-ordination for conducting Carnivel festival, Flower show, Regional important religious festivals like Sanipeyarchi, Mangani, Kandhoori, Vinayagar Chathurthi etc.
