Dr. D. MANIKANDAN, I.A.S, District Collector and District Magistrate.

Dr. D. MANIKANDAN, IAS assumed charged as District Collector, Karaikal on 14th February, 2024. He is the 19th Collector of the Karaikal District. He belongs to the AGMUT Cadre IAS of 2010 Batch. He holds a Post Graduate degree in Public Policy and a Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Applied Psychology.

He has held key administrative positions in different Union Territories and State Governments. Some of the key positions held are Collector, Lakshadweep Islands, Secretary to Government of Departments of Tourism, Information Technology, PWD, Agriculture in Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Dr. D. MANIKANDAN, IAS has also held the post of Joint Secretary to Government, Home Department and Additional Secretary to Government, Education Department in Government of Tamil Nadu on Inter-State Deputation. He has wide experience in all facets of administration which includes general administration, IT, e-governance and other issues of public policy.
