Elections
The entire UT of Puducherry has only one Lok Sabha Constituency and Karaikal District has 5 Assembly Constituencies which are as follows:
- 24-Nedungadu(SC),
- 25-Thirunallar,
- 26-Karaikal North,
- 27-Karaikal South and
- 28-Neravy T.R.Pattinam.
The District Collector is the District Election Officer with the responsibility to ensure free and fair conduct of General Elections of Lok Sabha and Assembly Constituencies in Karaikal. He also supervises the periodical revision of electoral rolls. He is assisted by Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and the Deputy District Election Officer (DDEO) assists the District Collector on all matters and issues of Elections.
